AI that takes in more than one type of data at once, for example imaging plus lab values plus clinical notes, and integrates them into a single prediction, closer to how a clinician actually reasons.
A model that estimates the chance a lung nodule is malignant combines the CT images with age, smoking history and prior chest imaging from the record. Every patient in the vendor's validation had all of those inputs, but in your records smoking history is often blank or out of date, and referred patients arrive without prior scans. Ask what the model does when an input is missing (refuses to score, fills in an estimate or scores on the images alone), and ask for its performance on incomplete records before go-live.
