HelloAI glossary

ROI

Return on investment: what you get back relative to what you spent. For healthcare AI this includes clinical, workforce, and financial returns, not just cost savings.

In the clinic

A business case for a tool that drafts replies to patient portal messages assumes it saves each primary care physician about 20 minutes a day, then converts that time into salary cost to show a large annual saving. The finance director points out that no paid hours go down, so that figure will never appear in the accounts. Decide before signing what the time is for, such as one extra appointment per clinic day or less evening inbox work, and measure both the time actually saved and that use of it against the same clinics' figures from before go-live.

Go beyond the definition

Terms like this come up in real clinical scenarios across the HelloAI courses: bite-sized modules with verifiable certificates. An account takes one minute, no password needed.
